BC112 Large Iron  Crane Tsuba, A Great later Edo Era Tsuba. This kind of tsuba is seen on many of the beautifully embellished koshirae of the late Edo into the meiji era. A large crane standing amongst water plants. On the reverse there is a small spider sitting on a leaf. The leaves are raised above the surface making them stand out just a little lower than the crane. A good example for the collector of the more beautiful tsuba produced in the Edo period. Pictures washed out the color. Iron is a nice dark chocolate patina. Rim is a raised rope design.

Size: 8.7cm x 8.3cm x 4mm, the rim measures 7mm
