BC178 Iris ( Shobu) sukashi tsuba design .

Looks like Owari. Some of the fine line engraving is almost worn off but still visible. When you look at the rim you can see the linear lines showing the s shaped folding method. As with all tsuba and this one that are assymetric the majority of the iris are on the right side so that the approaching person can view it. This is always the idea when designing tsubas. This tsuba might be a Momoyama period piece.
